SEA AND WINE PROJECT WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL WINE AND FOOD FESTIVAL
The international exhibition "Wine and Food" Festival is held for the eleventh year in a row in the month of June in the city of Varna. Regional wineries, wineries from all over the country and wine importers from Europe and the world will present their best vintages. The festival is held with the exceptional support of all national and regional tourism branch organizations of hoteliers and tour operators, as well as local municipal and state administrations. The statistics for the last edition in 2022 are – 45 stands with over 600 wines specially selected for the exhibition, a selection of high-quality visco-alcoholic limited edition drinks; over 1500 visitors; participation of over 20 interns and 15 volunteers from the local Vocational High School of Tourism and the College of Tourism at the University of Economics, as well as the help of sommeliers and wine connoisseurs from the city.
In this year's edition with a large branded stand - tent, the Black Sea Regional Viticulture Chamber will participate through the "Sea and Wine" project. Festival visitors and wine cellar participants will be presented with information about the European Union PDO and PGI scheme regarding the specific quality, reputation and other characteristics of wine due to its specific geographical environment and origin. The responsible consumption of wine and the risk of harmful alcohol consumption will also be emphasized. This will be done through brochures, leaflets, posters, meetings with interested parties and a special wine tasting with PDO and PGI from the region. A series of articles in specialized media and portals is also planned. One of the goals of the project is to increase the percentage of PDO and PGI registered wines, which will increase the competitiveness of the Black Sea region.
